    Hi all,

Can anyone advise whether you must use the spreadsheet to show calculations, or may i show the full answer on the word processor tool.

If offered a spreadsheet response option and a requirement calls for calculations, you will most likely penalise yourself (e.g. with time pressure/not using spreadsheet functionality) if you put computations into the word processor response.

ACCA therefore provides lots of guidance on using the practice platform https://www.accaglobal.com/uk/en/student/exam-support-resources/professional-exams-study-resources/cbe-platform-support.html – and at the bottom of this page there are “guidance documents” relevant to each level (Applied Skills and Strategic Professional – and a separate one for SBL) – these include spreadsheet functions and commonly used formulae.

How about writing everything in the spreadsheet? I find it confusing going from one to the other in a single answer

If a requirement calls for a wholly written answer you must use the wordprocessor option for that requirement.
If a requirement calls for for calculations with discussion/explanation, the discussion/explanation can be included in the spreadsheet with the calculations – there is no need to hop in and out.

If you are are doing a Q calling for report, where calculations would be provided in an appx, use word for the report and xls for appendices.
