The results of a chemistry examination are normally distributed with a mean score of 56 and a standard deviation of 12.
What is the percentage probability that a student will score more than 80?

Please do not simply type out a test question and expect to be provided with a full answer. You must have an answer in the same book in which you found the question, so ask about whatever it is in the answer that you are not clear about – then I will explain.

Calculate the number standard deviations that 80 is away from the mean.
Look that up in the tables provided, and that gives you the probability of being between 80 and the mean.
Subtract that figure from 0.5 to get the probability of more than 80.

This is all explained in my free lectures.
