Normally allowance for disability for the RAP and the SLS only extends to dyslexia. However if generally there is a particular reason to bring a disability to the marking team’s attention e.g. possibly in relation to challenges in coping with the RAP requirements or the effect of ill health impacting on achieving objectives and you are mentioning these in the SLS then you could include relevant medical documents. This seems to be what you are doing so include the medical certificate as an appendix as evidence of your condition.

October 23, 2018 at 11:16 pm #479614if you could assist me with this email from my academic officer, it would be highly appreciated. Does this email mean i have passed or failed?
Dear Student
BSc (Hons) Applied Accounting
You have been advised that your recent RAP has been referred to an Academic Conduct Officer because of doubts as to its originality raised during the marking process.
Please find attached a letter, which is self-explanatory. Please respond to my email address. Please do not contact the ACCA office at Oxford Brookes as they are not involved in this process at all and will, therefore, be unable to assist you.
The office will release your results as soon as possible.
October 24, 2018 at 7:46 am #479624It looks like a standard letter when your work has been referred for consideration by the marking team to the Academic Conduct Office. It refers to a second letter “Please find attached a letter, which is self-explanatory. Please respond to my email address” so presumably sets out the details about your referral.
Pending an investigation your result is deferred which means that only after the ACO has completed this investigation will your result be released. So then you will find out whether it has passed or failed. If the investigation shows that you have breached the student academic regulations then a penalty can be imposed dependent on what the infringement was but can be the work is given a ‘zero grade’ which means a fail for everything (but is still counted as a submission attempt). Sometimes too a penalty resubmission fee is imposed -normally double the standard amount so over GBP 600 for the next submission
October 24, 2018 at 1:36 pm #479648the letter states the following :
‘Having closely examined the evidence available to me, i have concluded that the similarities between you and the other student may have been caused by you giving access to your work, which is bad academic practice. However, Im able to inform you that you have been exonerated and i will advising the admin office to release your result.’
Does this mean I can still fail?
October 24, 2018 at 2:21 pm #479651It means precisely what it says – the ACO Officer has decided that this is bad academic practice. Your result will be released – the officer appears not to have changed the grade but until the result is released you will not know whether it is a pass or a fail. (If it is a fail you will be given the marker feedback in the normal way and if it is a pass you will eventually receive your certificate).
October 26, 2018 at 2:10 pm #479882if the project that i submitted in may 2018 failed(because of SLS), can I submit the same project in may 2019 submission obviously with a new SLS instead of submitting it in november 2018 as i do not have funds right now to submit.
October 26, 2018 at 11:53 pm #479903Yes you do not have to resubmit immediately (unless you are about to reach the 10 year expiry date). The report grade will be carried over and therefore you only have to fulfil the SLS requirements and then you will get a full pass. (Unfortunately the full fee is still applicable regardless of what was failed and needs to be resubmitted).
November 22, 2018 at 10:28 am #485494Hey Everyone
So my result was deferred and after multiple emails to and from my ACO, I have been exonerated as off 15 November 2018.
My ACO also wrote in the same email that my result and feedback would be released in due course.
However no subsequent email from them in the past 7 days. Hence I still dont have my result. Since the OBU portal isn’t working (I cant sign in), is there any other place where I can get my result from?
Still dont know if its a Pass or Fail. :/
November 22, 2018 at 5:14 pm #485523You will not be ble to access it because as you say the whole system is down.
You could email the ACO and ask them nicely if it passed or failed – having been an ACO myself I normally knew the grade. Though I doubt they would have access to the feedback, they might be prepared to tell you whether it passed or failed.
December 21, 2018 at 2:24 pm #492438Terephena due to internet problem my submission email was late by one minute I want to ask will it cause me a problem or not also should I contact University on this matter please help I need guidance
December 21, 2018 at 11:05 pm #492460Unfortunately the University, like many businesses in the UK is now closed until 2 January so no one can give you a definitive answer. I would have thought that if it is only one minute then you will probably be OK. However it is not my decision so you will need to contact acca@brookes.according.uk in January and see what they say.
December 22, 2018 at 8:03 am #492489Thanks mam for response I am relieved to some extent because I talked with my mentor also he is saying submission by email is not new and on last time when it happened one of his students was some minute late and he got his result and I am in a much better condition because I am only one minute late he is pretty sure that nothing bad will happen and according to him I should not write an email to them if they contact me or refund my fee than i response both of theseare highly unlikely because obu will not waste a student effort just for one minute delay because it will hurt the university reputation and also demoralize students like me furthermore according to you one minute delay is probably ok so I think I should wait for the university to contact me I will post further if I am contacted by the university
May 14, 2019 at 1:11 pm #515893Terephena and others thanks for helping me during my problematic times I will never forget the guidance you guys provided me now today I got my result in which they congratulated me for completing bsc that’s why I am very happy may God bless you guys and you guys keep on doing good work you are doing
