One of the Questions is: Average wait for a telephone repair.
The answer given by the paper’s answer page is 29-30 days.
If we are having 804 remaining at last of day and returns are 10000 so it means that we can give customer his telephone every next day he returns for repair. How is he waiting?
804/10000*365
If we are getting 10000-804=9196 repairs per day so every second day we deliver the repaired phone back. And your presentation is correct which is written in book. .
The answer is 29.3 days if it had said that 10000 repairs are done per annum.
Repair each day = 10000/365= 27.397
If repairs each day are 27.397 so 804 unrepaired phones are completed each 29th day (804/27.397).
Is it correct, Professor?
Correct.
