what is meant by very flat span of control?
“very flat” makes me confused.
It is an unusual way to put it. It means that the company is a wide flat type. That means the span of control is large (or wide) because each supervisor will have many people directly reporting.
A tall narrow structure has a small (or narrow) span of control and each supervisor or manager has only a few people directly reporting.
