Hey guys please can someone advise as I have been going in circles with ACCA
I wanted my time signed of for PER from my old workplace. I contacted ACCA and they said to sign off time my supervisor doesn’t needs to be IFAC qualified, they only need to be IFAC qualified to sign off performance objectives. I only want time signed off so that shouldn’t be an issue

However when I sent my supervisor the link from the ACCA PER system he is unable to open it. He emailed ACCA to ask for advice and then in their email they replied to him saying he is not IFAC qualified. In the same email at the end of the email they wrote the supervisor doesnt need to qualified to sign off time, being IFAC qualified is only necessary for signing of performance objectives. I feel like ACCA are not even looking at the issue and it just seems they are copying and pasting a generic reply in their emails. Both me and my supervisor are going back and forth with ACCA and each time a different person signs of the email.

Feeling very stressed as I no longer work at this workplace so dont think my manager will keep chasing up with ACCA about this as its wasting his time πŸ™

ACCA have not been very helpful and I cant get through to them on the phone as the line keeps cutting off. Has anyone else’s supervisor had any technical problems with signing off time?

Have you first registered your supervisor with ACCA before sending the link?

    See here https://www.accaglobal.com/uk/en/student/practical-experience-per/practical-experience-supervisor.html:

“How can I register myself with a practical experience supervisor?
Once you have found someone who agrees to act as your supervisor, you should enter their details including their EMAIL ADDRESS against the relevant employer and role in your online My Experience record.
An email will be sent asking them to agree to act as your supervisor and inviting them to REGISTER. They will then be GIVEN ACCESS to review and sign-off your performance objective(s) and/or time via My Experience.”

i.e. he should be registered in order to access your myACCA directly – he should not require you to send him a link to try and access it.

    thanks for getting back Kim.

Yes I did and he set up his account but when he clicks on “go to the experience record to review and sign-off your trainees practical experience” the page fails to load.

ACCA said he hasn’t registered his work email address but he sent them screenshots of it being registered.

They then replied “Please accept my apologies for the previous information. Having looked into this I can see that you have not yet provided your IFAC membership details. This information must be added to allow supervisors to sign off their trainee’s experience. Once you have updated this you should have access to the sign off page.”

My supervisor then said he does not have a IFAC membership and Is only signing off time, would this be possible? They came back and said

“To sign off performance objectives, a practical experience supervisor should be a qualified accountant recognised by law in your country and/or a member of an International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) body. The do not have to be a qualified accountant to sign off time. ”

In there response they have said he doesnt have to be a qualified accountant to sign off time so im not sure what the issue is :/

Can you please give me the names and departments of the people who have replied to you – I will then see if I can find someone to help.

I don’t have departments but the email address was info@accaglobal.com and the emails were signed of by Niamh on one occasion and Natalie on another. Im not sure of the names of the people who replied to my supervisor but he said it was a few different people.

I have the ticket reference numbers if that helps?

    Thankyou!

Received and forwarded to ACCA – if and when you get to the bottom of the issue it would be great if you could report back here on how it is resolved – I will leave the post open for you.
