hello sir,
can you please help me with the difference between social values and social attitudes?
The definition seems to be clear as values are about norms and attitude is about the standpoint of liking and disliking.
BUT I always get confused by the examples.
as given in my textbook: –
Change in attitude about waste leads to the growth of recycling firms but this can also be related to the values as well, I think?
I am mainly concerned if a question comes about identifying a particular example between these two factors.
I don’t think there is a worthwhile difference between these terms and you shouldn’t worry.
If anything, values are fundamental eg people should be honest or people should act fairly. Attitudes spring from values eg your attitude towards taxation policy or your attitude towards workplace bullying.
THANK YOU, sir
can these types of questions come in exam to identify in between?
I think it’s very unlikely. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a question before this one that talks about values and attitudes.
