How did the ethic background and family structure affect the business organisation?
For example, in S Korea, chaebols are large industrial conglomerates that are run and controlled by an owner or family. They often consist of a large number of diversified affiliates, and the owner’s power over the group can often exceed strict legal authority because of family relationships and duty.
Similarly, a common structure in Japanese business is a keiretsu which is a set of companies with interlocking business relationships and shareholdings in which companies own small portions of the shares in each other’s companies. It is a kind of cooperative network.
