May 10, 2017 at 11:53 pm #385664Not a good idea to post it here. However think about all types of communication and the medium. How you coped with frustrations and pressures and overcame issues (these might be in respect of colleagues, friends and family. Also consider the slide presentation- designing effective slides to communicate your key points well
May 15, 2017 at 2:03 pm #385746This is what i have written. I am sorry if it goes against the rules. Please give it a read and tell me what is it that i am lacking.
i spoke about enquiring with friends who took up research projects and what problems did they face and how they overcome it, so that i would be prepared to deal with those difficulties as they arise.(no medium of communication specified)
then about face-to-face meetings with mentor where discussions were in depth and clear. feedbacks through email and if those feedbacks are not clear, i would enquire with mentor in the next meeting or through phone call.
report prepared in understandable and professional manner to the users along with graphical representations which gives readers an idea of overall trend of different financial measures.Avoiding ambiguous statements that the users cannot understand.
presentation was face-to-face. aims to covers key points under each area that gives the users a glimpse of actual financial and business position of company in a clear and concise manner.

Appreciate your help
TIAJuly 30, 2017 at 1:55 pm #399449There are no changes to the SLS – the 4 questions approach is the valid and suggested aporoach

October 20, 2017 at 2:54 pm #412621Hi,
I would like to know whether it is important to reference in the presentation part? Since the information is based on part 3 of the RAP.
It would be really helpful to know the implications regarding this matter.
October 20, 2017 at 5:05 pm #412673No need for referencing in Presentation slides.
November 7, 2017 at 10:22 am #414657Are we required to provide references in the Skills and Learning Statement ?
November 7, 2017 at 12:09 pm #414670@trephena I failed my project and want to know about resubmisson. Do I have to amend the whole project or the part which I’ve failed? Second in sls I have failed in self reflection and passed presentation, again Do I have to resubmit my old presentation or make new one?
Please can you advice the resubmission process.
Thanks in advanceNovember 8, 2017 at 2:58 pm #414820“Do I have to amend the whole project or the part which I’ve failed?”
Generally I think it would be unwise (particularly as a resubmission costs GBP300) to take a short cut on this especially as normally it is not possible to identify with certainty just the part that was failed. Markers tend to give examples -and they are merely that i.e. examples – of what was wrong but that often means there were other instances of similar problems ( all of which they couldn’t list). Depends to some extent on the feedback you received – if it merely said for example , your conclusion was inappropriate then you would probably get away with just amending that part.
If you change topic you would also be expected to submit a new presentation as you have not cleared both parts of the whole SLS.
If resubmitting on the same topic you don’t have to do a new presentation
November 8, 2017 at 3:51 pm #414878Good Afternoon,
I am resubmitting SLS for the 2nd time this session. I just wanted to know that according to OBU, we must have an additional meeting with the mentor if SLS is to be resubmitted. So, my doubt is whether that extra meeting should be discussed in the SLS Question 1? If so, wont that significantly increase the word count?
Secondly, what exactly should I discuss in the Resubmission statement, given the fact that only Q1 and Q2 had some issues?
November 11, 2017 at 2:24 pm #415260Hello everyone!
My question is I passed the RR and the self reflection part of SLS and just failed the presentation. Now I’m resubmitting and there are options of References and Appendices to upload, what should I do? Just upload the SLS and Resubmission Statement or these files as well of References and Appendices?
Thank You,November 11, 2017 at 6:01 pm #415294Congratulations on passing the report and SLS statement. No you do not need to upload any other files apart from the SLS and the Presentation The SLS will be the one that passed previouslyhowever and just a ‘s system requirement’ – so do not be alarmed if your files won’t load without it
November 12, 2017 at 12:03 pm #415400Hello Trephena,
I am resubmitting SLS for the 2nd time this session. I want to know that according to OBU, we must have an additional meeting with the mentor if SLS is to be resubmitted. So, my doubt is whether that extra meeting should be discussed in the SLS Question 1? If so, wont that significantly increase the word count?

November 13, 2017 at 11:16 pm #415631You are not normally expected to have another mentor meeting unless you have changed the topic or company for your research report. Here’s are a few ideas.
Think about your skill set -or rather lack of it at the start of your RAP. Writing a 7,500 word research report is very different from exams. Q1 Did you have any strengths that you could build on? What concerns and weaknesses did you have? How did you overcome any challenges and setbacks? Looking back now how did you cope? Did you feel you were making progress or were there some skills you would have liked to have improved on and further developed? What do you think now about producing the report in terms of what you have achieved and how you would feel if you you had to undertake something similar again?
Q2. Realistically how do you feel about the quality of your research? Did you find research easy or difficult and what helped or hindered? What could you have done better with the benefit of hindsight? What went well ? Where you disappointed about any aspects? Were some particular objectives easier to achieve than others? Could you have included further objectives if you had been given more time and additional words?
November 14, 2017 at 9:32 am #415688Thank you for the in depth helpful reply Trephana! So what u said should discussed in any form in sls which is relevant for me. I understood clearly now, Thanks a lot. So since i am not changing my topic or company, there is no need of an additional meeting. That means my SLS Q1 will be like, First meeting:….. Second Meeting:…. Third meeting:….., Same as before right? No extra heading to add
November 14, 2017 at 11:05 am #415696Well you could add a bit at the end of Q1 about how you have learned from the marker feedback. Something along the lines that self-reflection plays a role in learning and development as it makes you see the whole purpose of reviewing your skills and being self-critical. This means you should be more efficient in future and avoid making the same mistakes (examples might be given of where you wasted time or struggled with something)
Note: Although Q1 tends to focus on what you learned from the mentor it should really be … from the mentor and the whole process.
November 14, 2017 at 12:15 pm #415713Well I Failed Research report because my research questions were personal target rather than organisation performance and I was not able to build relationship between my question and conclusion and for sls I discussed most about my mentor teaching me rather than what I learned and again due to wrong selection of question I was unable to explain How well I answered these question. This is what examiner concluded, I’ve amended these mistakes and hope I can get passing marks.
April 15, 2018 at 10:42 am #446703I failed my presentation. I changed my mentor. Now do I have to make changes to my Learning statement too?
April 15, 2018 at 11:24 am #446705I think you just need to prepare presentation.
