DMAIC is a way of obtaining quality improvements.

Define: what do customer’s value or require as quality? It could be fast, flexible delivery, low rejection rates, fast response to queries, fast response to servicing of machinery.

Measure: how are we doing now with respect to these requirements?

Analyse: why are we falling short?

Improve: try out a solution to improve performance and move towards the required target.

Control: keep an eye on costs, time and whether the original requirements are still relevant or achievable.

This is likely to be asked as a scenario-type question, so you would angle your answer to make use of information in the question.
