    Hi everybody,
I would like to ask, if anyone have some experience with cancelling the exam because of illness? I got boreliosis and I eat antibiotics every day since last Friday. I am not able to learn anything, so I would like to cancel the exam. Of course I have confirmation about it from my doctor. Would I lose the paid money or can I somehow apologise from the exam? Thank you.

You will not get your money back,
But if you send to the ACCA notice from the doctor, your exam fee will be transferred to next examination session (December)

Yep I’ve had experience of this last sitting. The doctor was going to charge me £30 for the note but I explained to him that the purpose of the note is so I don’t have to lose money on the exams and he let me have it for free 🙂

This is the reply I got back from ACCA

Thank you for your recent correspondence and documentary evidence relating to your entry for the December examinations.

I am sorry to hear of the exceptional circumstances resulting in your absence from the above examinations. Although it is not current ACCA policy to permit a student to withdraw an examination entry once it has been submitted, on this occasion, I have arranged to have the entry fees paid for this session credited to your account for your future use.

Please note that you will not automatically be entered for the June examinations.  Examination entry forms will be sent to all eligible students in February and should be returned prior to the closing date for receipt of applications  in order to be considered.

I trust this meets with your approval.

    Yours sincerely

Yes very shocking. But apparently a lot of general practioners charge for a note in the UK these days. All he did was print out a template, write my name, date and my condition and signed it. I wasn’t going to pay for that!

I dont think a road accident on the way to the exam is going to do it. If your accident had been b4 the exam and you were in hospitle or had a broken arm then you may b lucky

    i think!

    Good Afternoon,

Today I have missed my ACCA exam because M4 was partly closed due to double fatality accident near Chippenham, Wiltshire. Was stuck there for 3 hours.

Is it any chance I can resit it free of charge in December ?
    Many Thanks

Hi opentuition! My friend got chicken pox two days back and she is planning on not writing the exam(F5) this december. Would the myacca account be credited with the amount paid for F5 to the next june session?
If so, would she be able to attempt any other paper for the june session, say F7?? or should she write F5 itself?
Kindly respond, ASAP if possible. Thankyou so much.

acca wouldnt do any refunds unless it’s serious illnesses. so even if you give them some mc or some doctors’ letters, if it’s not serious illnesses, they wouldnt refund you the fees no matter what. pretty strict on that.

suggest you try to take the paper no matter what, or just forfeit the fees.

For all of the above, we cannot really give advice – the only way to find out is to email the ACCA on students@accaglobal.com

As others have said, they never refund fees but under certain circumstances they will carry forward to money to the next exam session.

You should send an email to students@accaglobal.com with all your supporting evidence.
They are not unreasonable and will take all your information in to account.
The reply from acca that you can read above is a standard reply to any request if they accept your reason is valid

I had acute sinusitis and upper respiratory tract infection for the June 2015 sitting. I was out for a week and submitted my medical certificates from the doctor and corresponded with ACCA, but all for nothing. They did not accept my medical reason so I had to pay again…
