Should the FR Opentuition course be complemented with a Study Text

The opentuition key to pass page for FR recommends reading through a study text. Mr Mike in his lectures reiterates often that you can read more details about a standard in the study text. To date I haven’t used a study text from an approved provider, only a revision kit and have relied solely on opentuition for learning. I would like to know if I can do the same for FR
