Hi – I am home studying ACCA and I work in a UK accountancy practice.
Opentuition and my textbooks (kaplan) concentrate on the International stream, and there are a couple of pages at the end of the chapter that say UK syllabus focus.
My problem is I tend to be revising the whole notes rather than concentrating on UK elements.
Is it wiser to maybe sit the International exam? Is there much difference to the UK?
My final query – when I registered with ACCA I opted for UK Taxation stream and UK law stream. Does this permit me to sit International stream or do I have to sit UK?
Thanks

You can choose yourself which variant to sit.
I would recommend u to go for Int Reporting (F7). Because UK GAAP system is being replaced by IFRS. This process started long ago and it is supposed to be replaced by 2014. Maybe dates change, as it takes time, but the point is that IFRS get more and more importance. While UK one might be just useless one day.As for Law and tax variant. As u work in UK , maybe it’s smart to study UK variant.
However if u decide to go for say Glo law instead, then u need to message ACCA about it, so that they change your law variant.
U can can sit any variant of any exam u want.
