I have seen in ur lectures advising us to use short forms in our answers such that they are readable. Does this still apply considering there are only 2 written questions??
August 29, 2016 at 5:04 pm #336053‘use short forms in our answers’
Do you mean ‘use abbreviations’?
If so, yes. Use them
It doesn’t matter how many 10 mark questions there are – you’re going to be facing EXTREME time pressure and the saving of a second or two here or there could be the difference between 49% (hard luck 🙁 ) and 50% (congratulations :-))
I don’t know where you’ve got the information ‘only 2 written questions’
Section B of the exam comprises three 10 mark case-based questions. Each case has five objective test questions of 2 marks each.
August 31, 2016 at 11:05 am #336513thank you and sorry for writing so vaguely. by written questions i meant written answers. i really appreciate you going the extra mile to clarify. Bless your heart
August 31, 2016 at 4:32 pm #336590No problem … but I still don’t know what you mean, neither ‘by written questions i meant written answers’ nor by written answers
Help me, please!
August 31, 2016 at 7:10 pm #336626ok so the section C of exam will consist of 2 questions, that are not objective. the rest of the paper is objective, section B with case studies, section A without case studies. Section C answers will need to be written out in the form of calculations and discussions.
August 31, 2016 at 8:43 pm #336638Are these what you call ‘written’?
(a) Prepare a schedule of adjustments required to the retained earnings of Kandy Co as at 30 September 20X5 as a result of the information in notes (i) to (iii) above.
(b) Prepare the statement of financial position of Kandy Co as at 30 September 20X5.
Note: The notes to the statement of financial position are not required.(c) Prepare the extracts from Kandy Co’s statement of cash flows for operating and investing activities for the year ended 30 September 20X5 which relate to property, plant and equipment.
The following mark allocation is provided as guidance for this question:
(a) 8 marks (b) 9 marks (c) 3 marksMaybe they are, but it’s a strange description!
🙂
