The authorized share capital is the maximum amount of share capital a company can issue.
I wanted to know whether authorized share capital includes only ordinary shares or both ordinary and preference shares?
There is no requirement for a company to have a maximum amount of share capital that they can issue. (It used to be a legal requirement but that was abolished many, many years ago.)
If they want to have a limit then they can, but it us their choice and they can choose which shares to limit.
