Counting down to the results tonight and started to think about the pass rates. Do you think that the majority of candidates sitting the September exams will be resitting? If this is the case do you think we will see an increase in the pass rates? Just a thought.
I hate waiting for results, had managed to put it out my mind for a while, but I am now struggling to think about anything else.
October 18, 2015 at 12:07 pm #276972I’ve always got the impression that pass rates are manipulated a bit so if not enough people passed ACCA would bump up a few people (I think that’s what my college tutors have said anyway). So perhaps rather than pass rates being loads higher there’ll just be less bumping up.
I think locations of where people could sit September exams will have an impact too. I’m sure I read somewhere that the UK pass rates are much higher than world pass rates so I would expect this to have an impact if there are less rest of the world sitters.
You can see this on the forums with the number and geographical spread of people posting about September results being so different to other exam sittings.
It was so nice being in a quieter exam hall in September, maybe I’ll leave resitting my exam until March.
12 hours to go! Hope your day goes quickly 🙂

And another exam sitting that makes me think why do people bother with P5?
October 20, 2015 at 8:22 pm #277928I did P2 for the 1st time and passed it. My brother in law did it as well for the 2nd time and passed too.
Im not surprised the pass rate was lower than usual as the exam felt much more difficult than past papers. I came out thinking that this was my hardest exam by far. And I really liked Corporate Reporting. I told everyone that this exam was really difficult, which was uncharacteristic of me.I’m a bit surprised with the pass rates for P6 and P7. Although I’ve not done either yet, there was a very big swing in pass rates (11 percentage points for both).
I wonder how the ACCA will analyse it. - AuthorPosts
