In September/December 2019 AFM Exam in the following link:
    https://www.accaglobal.com/content/dam/acca/global/PDF-students/acca/p4/AFM_discursive_requirements.pdf
I wan to ask, in this requirement 3(a)”Discuss possible sources of financial synergy arising from Kerrin Co’s acquisition of Danton Co and comment on the finance director’s concern that synergy is often overestimated, including any steps which could be taken by Kerrin Co’s board to address this problem” why the examiner does not require to define” What is financial synergy?”. But in requirement 1(c)” Discuss why Okan Co’s subsidiary company may be exposed to economic risk (economic exposure) and how it may be managed”, the examiner requires to define : “What is economic risk?”
In what cases and types of requirement does the examiner want to define the “term” mention in the requirement?

If a definition is required then the question will specify it.

However definitions are not usually required, but it is wise to explain terms as part of your answer.
