Anyone else get negative 650 for the NPV question? …so not a worthwhile project.
September 8, 2023 at 6:31 pm #691763are exams questions different per exam?, cause i did not get this question
September 8, 2023 at 6:51 pm #691765So annoyed with the lack of working capital questions – this is a massive part of the syllabus yet I got about 3 x 2 mark questions on this!
I failed in June and this is a resit so really disappointed with this.September 8, 2023 at 8:55 pm #691772it was my first attempt but gosh I have been so frustrated throughout the whole examination – I spent so much time on risk/uncertainty to comprehend it well with definitions and working capital as well – NOTHING, one question on rec. days and one theoretical part. If I won’t score 50% I will be so mad – that was my breaking point, I will give up ACCA if it’s not a pass honestly.
September 8, 2023 at 9:02 pm #691773Don’t give up mate – it’s all long but it will be worth it in the long run
September 8, 2023 at 9:13 pm #691774yes mine was something this fig in -ve. What about the fixed cost that was 3m, i was so amaze to see that figure. i might confuese there
September 9, 2023 at 7:39 am #691784Did anyone got mak co and ackbar co in exam?
September 9, 2023 at 10:37 am #691794Yes got that too
September 9, 2023 at 10:45 am #691795Did anyone get NPV calculation with a choice of real wacc and nominal wacc for discounting in section c ?
September 9, 2023 at 10:49 am #691797Yes i got Mak Co too , was it the one with Npv .?
Was your NPV positive ?September 9, 2023 at 11:03 am #691745Section C was so easy. One question on 4 year or 6 year replacement question and the second one was on WACC. The WACC question was so easy it didn’t have the more complicated items.
Section A and B is hard. Too many question on foreign currency and value of of equity questions. The multiple choice, that does not involve calculation have to pick 3 or 4 items per question which made it difficult. and a lot of file in the blank. Hopefully i get most of the points from Section C.September 9, 2023 at 12:42 pm #691814For section C I got an NPV question and a financial analysis using appropriate ratios for the other one. It was pretty straight forward except the NPV question included working capital for net assets, I was a bit confused with that. But section A and B felt really hard. Usually I find A and B straightforward but I’m worried. Hopefully I got the marks in section C too. Fingers crossed!!
September 9, 2023 at 1:41 pm #691819Yes my npv was positive. 2625 something. Wbu?
September 9, 2023 at 2:37 pm #691821Yess mine was exactly around 2000 something
September 9, 2023 at 8:08 pm #691837I had the same part C questions as, you they seemed easy!
For the replacement cycles did we have to do the NPV’s mine both came as negative? I also struggled abit with the efficiency part as it was a not for profit business
September 9, 2023 at 10:29 pm #691842yes i did to what was ur answer on the npv was it positive or neg
September 10, 2023 at 12:49 am #691844Negative for both but option with 4 years had the lowest
September 10, 2023 at 5:43 am #691846mine was positive aswell
September 10, 2023 at 5:53 pm #691862NPV cost for the 4 year cycle was the lowest, but 6 year cycle had the lowest EAC.
September 11, 2023 at 11:59 am #691880The EAC Npv’s where both negative as they are costs (only the scrap value was positive). Do you remember what the written questions where in Section C. I remember The Effiencecy , there was one where we had to explain the EAC process. Using WACC for Investment Appraisal and there was one about the Dividend Growth Model but i cant fully remember
September 12, 2023 at 10:38 am #691919The only complication on the WACC one was working out the Ke especially the redeemable which I did the IRR for 5% and 10%..other than that, I waffled on the 5 marker trying to explain efficiency for VFM organizations lol
September 12, 2023 at 10:46 am #691920Yes the EAC is supposed to be negative, it calculates cost NPV except for disposal proceeds so you were on the right path..
September 12, 2023 at 3:11 pm #691927Did you not use the excel IRR formula ? Was a lot easier and quicker. However the “excel” format used by ACCA is so outdated its a joke
September 12, 2023 at 9:32 pm #691963How was the growth calculated in the dividend valuation model for wacc question, if you remember?
