Hello all, my plan was to sit F6 on its own in September, however I feel my studying has went a lot quicker than expected and I am already at a level where I could pass this exam.
Do you think I have enough time to study for another exam by September and if so, which one out of F7, F8 and F9 would you recommend? Thanks.I work 20 hours per week at the moment.
June 18, 2015 at 12:43 pm #257692Time Management is fundamental, F8.
I cannot sit for September due not allowed.
June 18, 2015 at 2:10 pm #257730I think F8 as It is not mathematical.
June 18, 2015 at 8:41 pm #257826Hi Michael
I could be in a similar situation to you. I am going to sit F6 in September as well but I am not near the stage where you are yet. However if I do get there I was thinking about doing another one too.
Trouble is when looking at what people have said work well by studying together (bar graph).
The majority have said F7 and F8 are literally the best combination. This would leave F9 but they say that F6 and F9 are literally the worst combination. This is totally not helpful I know and I would like to see what feedback others can give us.
June 19, 2015 at 4:14 pm #258079if you found F6 easy to understand and have mastered it then F9 would be a good move.
it is also a mainly computational exam as F6. John is great so you will be able to understand the concepts easily.
F9 would be a great paper if you are considering adding another to your F6 studies.
F7 and F8 are best done together and are both bigger papers not to be taken lightly.
June 19, 2015 at 8:11 pm #258113I am glad that you have said this latoyah as it was putting me off of doing F6 and F9 together because of the people that voted it as a bad combination.
Yes John is great. He helped me with F5 and then when I finished he told me he did F9 as well.
This is one of the reasons that I am thinking of doing this one sooner as I will have a better chance of passing it with John’s help.I’ve only just started F6 as I have been studying for F4 which I am planning to do in a couple of weeks. There are a lot of lectures for F6, should I be worried by this?
June 20, 2015 at 9:55 am #258168Hi Chloe, I have asked in a few different forums, F8 seems to be the most common answer.
My main worry was time management, but everyone seems to think 3months is enough time if you put in the effort.
I am going to go for F9 as I have a bit of experience in FM and none in audit. So will keep the favoured F7&F8 combo for next time.
I have went through F6 very quickly, but again I have a bit of experience with tax. Hope this helps.June 20, 2015 at 12:13 pm #258179Hi Michael
If I do decide to do another one with F6 I will do F9 the same as you and then F7 and F8 in the next sitting like you. I think 3 months is enough time especially as some people do 4 exams in one sitting (which is the maximum).
I can see now why you are confident with F6 as you have experience with it already but if you do have any tips for me on studying this I would be grateful.
Also, please keep in touch as we are doing the same modules.June 22, 2015 at 2:37 pm #258485@ Chole
“There are a lot of lectures for F6, should I be worried by this?”
No i don’t believe so; 1) they aren’t very long – and 2) you will be better prepared.June 22, 2015 at 7:28 pm #258520Thanks latoyah, I am working my way through them 🙂
