I was wondering if it is better to you the old format of the exam as in using the 15 extra minutes given just reading and planning on the exam question paper.
For a 20 mark question (the shortest question in the exam) your reading and planning time for that 20 marker is 10 minutes
For the 35 marker, reading and planning time is 17.5 minutes
Even for the 20 marker, substantially all of the extra 15 minutes is taken up with reading and planning and there’s another 80 marks worth of questions to read and plan after that first 10 minutes!
I find it difficult to consider that a structured answer could be started any earlier than 10 minutes into that additional 15
Does that answer your question? Yes, stick with the former rules but, this time, you ARE allowed to write your plan in your answer booklet within that 15 minutes
OK?
