    Hi Dear Mike,

I took P2 in June and only managed to do 65% of the exam and got 37%.

I’m resitting in Sep-15 but not sure If i have got enough time to prepare.

But the good thing is I have taken 2 weeks off before exam from work.

So my question is Can I prepare for this exam in 2 weeks (no commitments just study)

    Any Intelligent guesses

    Many Thanks

Of course you can. But it doesn’t sound to me like a matter of a lack of knowledge! It sounds more like naive exam technique 🙁

What you’re saying is that the exam should be 4.5 hours long!

Now, what I say to you is this …. “It never has been, itisn’t, and it never will be. So get used to it. Spend some time this next three weeks practicing time allocation and then practice sticking to it. It reall is very straight-forward.

An 18 mark sub question deserves how long?

    Yes, 32.4 minutes (32 minutes 24 seconds)

An 8 mark sub question? Correct! 14 minutes 24 seconds

    Keep trying for different numbers!

Now all we have to do is get you to practice STOPPING when your time allocation is finished and stop you from being tempted to “just finish this bit because I know I can do it”

How can you even admit to doing only 67% of the paper? Personally I would be SO embarrassed to tell anyone that I had made such an immature basic fundamental error.

How many times have I (and I have no doubt, others too) tried to emphasise that principle that is the key to ACCA exam success?

“ALLOCATE YOUR TIME AND STICK TO THAT ALLOCATION”

    Ok?

    Hi Mike,

What are the important areas that we need to pay more attention for Sept 2015?

    The syllabus?

I shall be making some guesses in the very near future but you would be foolish to rely on them!

They are literally just guesses – topics that you might usefully look at if you’re wondering what to revise next.

    Coming soon!
