Dear OpenTuition team,
I have a question regarding section C of the FM exam.
Do we have to show workings to a calculation separately or is it okay to keep the workings all contained in the cell of the calculation?
For example:
Show this:
Order size in litres 40,000 (calculation shown in cell: ((2*400*5000000)/2.5)^0.5)
Or this:
Order size in litres (working 1): 40,000
Working 1:
EOQ= ((2*400*5000000)/2.5)^0.5 = 40,000
Which way is preferred by the examiner, or are both correct. Seems to me that option one saves more time.
Thanks.
In answer to your question the markers for the examiner can look at what is in the cell.
It will show what you have done – what you have typed in the cell to get an answer.
But my advice would be to show as much as you can about your workings. If time permits!
Thanks for your quick reply!
