Hi,
I am planning to take SBL & SBR in Dec 2018.
Advisable? If yes, what will the best approach to tackle both together? Focus on practicing question or on mastering the syllabus theoretical contents?

That should be fine. You can’t do questions without a theoretical foundation – though question practice is vital.
I suggest something like study a chapter or two, then try some relevant questions.
