    Hi

I just wanted a general feeling towards which one of these two exams SBL and ATX do students find easier or harder? And which would they advise to take first?
These would be my final 2 exams (subject to any retakes from Sep 2020 sitting!)

Any advice/thoughts on this would be much appreciated!

    Thanks!
    KY

I’m in the same boat as you. I did SBR as my first Strategic Professional exam, then went with the obvious choice of AAA. I’m currently preparing for ATX-UK in December 2020, with SBL in March 2021 hopefully.

I’d say it depends on how you found or performed in the previous linked exams (i.e TX, AB, AA, etc). If you find TX relatively easier then i’d say go with ATX first. Plus the fact that syllabus changes every year also has an impact on when to attempt it, for example it is least advisable to attempt it in March as rules changes immediately in June. So if it isn’t passed in March, a lot could change for next attempt.

I don’t have much idea about syllabus changes in SBL, though. Best of luck for September!

    Hi Missymckay.

I did both papers. Obviously everyone is different, so it is a matter of opinion which one is harder.

For me, ATX was more challenging, simply because the module is just so big. The concepts in ATX aren’t difficult, there’s just a lot to learn.

SBL is very opinion based, so some may say that the subjective nature of SBL makes it more challenging (ATX is of course objective). But for me, SBL was “easier”. If there was a poll I’m convinced most students would agree! 🙂
