Hello all. I am sitting for SBL in Dec 2021. I was recommended to watch the webinars that are provided by Mr. Hassan Dosanni. As I was watching his webinar, he somewhere told that the revision kit and study text are waste of time. Also, the models are not needed to be revised. Please kindly help me understand what is better as there is only around a month left for the exam.

I certainly don’t agree that re ision kits are a waste of time. Although some past exams and answer can be downloaded from ACCA, revision kits will provide more guidance and also usually group questions by subject. Question practice is vital and revision kits provide more than is available just with ACCA past exams.
Models are important too: this is not just an exam in common sense and there is a length syllabus and study guide. However, many students place too much emphasis in models and are even tempted to explain them. Explanations are rarely, if ever, required. I think the way to approach questions is to first use a common sense approach, then back-up your answer with suitable models. This gives your answer more weight and respectability as you are using accepted models to frame and justify your answer.
Largely I agree that textbooks are not needed. They present ro much detail and can lead you into wanting to display your learning rather then solving problems. I think our notes and lectures give the right amount of detail in an efficient way
