The single company and consol question will probably be presented in $’000. To save time would it be OK if I present my solution in $m rather than $’000? This would mean writing say 2.6 rather than 2,600. In the case of say 4,000 I would save even more time because I would only have to write 4.

I timed myself. It took me 15 seconds to write 000 10 times. If I have to write 000 100 times in the exam that’s 150 seconds = 2.5 minutes saved. I would surely gain a mark in those 2.5 minutes.

Yes, you can do. Sometimes an exam question will specifically ask you to work in $thousands but if it doesn’t, then why not?

Personally I KNOW that I would confuse myself and finish up rounding some and not others so I would avoid it but if you’re confident in your own clear-headedness then, sure, go for it

Ha! Clear-headedness is something I cannot guarantee Tuesday morning

So don’t do it! Don’t try reducing ‘000s to ‘.000s’
