    Hi sir, for march/june 2017 exam question 18b) .

I noticed that the answer key doesn’t consist of this deficiency.

But can i state as a deficiency ” That the credit limit is proposed by the sales staff and approved by the sales director ” ?

Because the sales staff are not senior enough to be setting credit limits and so could set limits too high and sales being made to poor credit risks or too low and pear losing its potential revenue.

Instead, for all new customers, a senior member of the sales department such as the sales manager should complete a credit application which should be checked through the credut agency.

Once these credit limits have been authorised by the sales director, it should be entered into the system by the credit controller.

Can i say this or will i be penalised since such a deficiency does not exist in the answer key ?

I don’tmsee anything necessarily wrong with sales, staff proposing a credit limit because there is ultimate control by the sales director. If anything the weakness is that only the sales department is involved. Better if the accounting departments got involved with crsit limits.

Okay. Then why in september 2016 exam question 16b)

” The sales staff are responsible for assessing new customers creditworthiness and proposing a credit limit, which is then authorised by the sales director”

is one of the deficiency though it was authorised by the sales director ?

I think the deficiency is the fact that the sales staff are responsible for assessing the creditworthiness of new customers though they have sales target right ? Not the fact that the credit limits are set by the sales clerk since it’s authorised by the sales director right sir ?

Likewise for june 2012 exam question 1a) one of the deficiency is that the credit limits are set by the sales staff since it’s not authorised by anyone right sir ?

These questions from you are never ending. Accept the model answer, use common sense and move on.
