Now i know this may be a case of how long is a piece of string, but i was wondering what the salary expectations are/have been achieved for a newly qualified accountant?
I qualified after June 12 sittings and am now an ACCA member as have completed all other requirements as well.

I work as a management accountant in a small firm and an offer has been made around the £33,000 mark has been made to recognise my qualification.

I am based in the south east of england.

Does this sound reasonable to you?

I am good at my job and it is a small firm with 4 finance employees.

    Thanks all!

I’d say minimum of £35k in the Northwest of England, not sure what your cost of living is like in the South East. But as you say it is a small firm so their budget is likely small.

    Hope this helps

i know there is no mention of looking for another job but this sort of conversation sort of leads to contemplation of prospects elsewhere, so a little calculation you may find useful.

    £x ( your percieved worth )
    : less: £33,000 ( your current offer)
:equals: £x (is £x sufficient incentive to change jobs?)

In the South East of England the average salary offered (dependent on experience) is £40k onwards. You are a qualified accountant so do not sell yourself short.

@ ekra cuz ur in pakistan u cant expect a salary no way near salaries in the UK and u cant compare ur situation to a persons situation in the UK cuz UK is a first world country and while our Pakistan is a third world country. You still are earning reasonable salary with regard to Pakistani standards, one of my qualified friends is earning around Rs 22000 a month

Exactly, I would say newly qualified depending on your experience so far worst case look for 32-35k, but like above poster says, dont sell yourself short, if you think you are worth 40k or more than dont settle for less unless you are desperate.

    @salman1212

Finding a job without prior experience in this world is highly tense matter.

However, answer to your question depends upon number of factors most prominently, your location, your other qualifications, your number of papers passed in ACCA and your INTERPERSONAL SKILLS.

If you are talking about Pakistan, find a good reference to step into an audit firm and expect no salary for first tow months.

If your question was about UK, I don’t think any audit firm will take you until you are ACCA Finalist or Affiliate. If you still wish to expect a job, you Interpersonal Skills & other qualifications would be vital.
