While goin through the ethical threats sections possible safeguards for most of the threats included reporting to those charged with governance (TCG)
Is it the audit comittee or bod ,whom they mean?
Also when asked in an exm qs to list the safeguards can we write reporting to TCG provided it is correct and will that alone b enough safeguard or shud we list other safeguards too?
Those charged with government ismthe BoD, but reporting to the audit committee should ensure that matters are raised at board level.
You would need to go into more specific detail about safeguards than simply say report to tgc in every case.
Usually some other action is needed. Reporting the problem to tgc is usually a weak safeguard compared to, say, resigning from the audit because of an ethical threat.
