    Hallo

I have a bit of trouble figuring out the way CIMA marks the exam regarding the Rounding.

In Math we learnt that you do not round any of your answers until the very end. There is some questions(the answers given) that they had to round earlier in the equation. Will you please assist if possible, because I have no idea if the computer based exams mark the questions with a built in variance.

    Kind regards,

Hi, Ideally the advice is to leave rounding until the end and most examples and exercises should follow this rule.

However, when the exam questions for CIMA objective tests are written- each question is carefully arranged and quality checked to ensure that rounding will not impact on the correct answer.
For questions when you are required to fill your answer into a blank box – there will be a range of accceptable answers that have considered rounding including potential rounding earlier on in the calculation.
When offered a multiple choice type answer – the correct option will be the one that is closest to your answer. (assuming you’ve calculated correctly).

    Hope that explains ok
    Kind Regards,
    Cath
