Hi Mike,
Two quick questions on yesterday’s paper before I put it to bed.
A question on Risks of MM, new client, listed group .. Question specially said to avoid disclosure issues in answer.
I wondering if any marks would be awarded for mentioning
1. Risks of MM in b/f opening balances
2. Risks in the transposition of the Subsidiares for Group ConsolAlso, does Forencis Investigations fall into the non-assur engagements prohibited for a listed audit client.
Thanks
December 6, 2016 at 10:25 am #354446“transposition” means tranpsositoin
The word you’re looking for is transcription
But that’s incidental to your question
I could happily see both your questions as constituting a ROMM
A forensic investigation results in a report of factual findings so no assurance is given
As for prohibition in the context of a listed audit client that, I would have thought, is a given
December 6, 2016 at 10:39 am #354447Thanks Mike,
Put my neck on line and said same .. only prob is maybe concluded it too soon without going through the safeguards as I thought it was a given too. 7 marks so I guess they wanted to see the alternatives etc though I did write about the negative exposure it would bring that there there could be no safeguards. I was wary of just writing down everything I knew on the topic.
I was mad i missed your last post on putting your plan diagram on the answer sheet especially as Q1 was printed on both sides of the page (really irritating) so would have been easier to put it on answer sheet.
Anyway, I’m getting back to my Tax so thanks for all the P7 posts and hopefully the next time I have a question for you it will be on P2 forum.
Thanks & regards,
GavinDecember 6, 2016 at 12:19 pm #354462You’re very welcome Gavin, and good luck with the tax
You’ll not find me on P2 – I’ve handed the baton on to P2D2
December 6, 2016 at 1:05 pm #354474Cheers. I was actually going to try P2 and P3 together next, as so far I’ve went one theory/one computational for each sitting.
I’ve heard P2 is tough so would I be better trying it alone?
December 6, 2016 at 3:22 pm #354512No, I would give it a go!
Yes, P2 is tough but, let’s be honest, what’s tough for one may be a piece of cake for someone else
Why do you think that the OpenTuition tutors respond only to certain subjects / papers?
Because I found management and strategy (and tax) papers difficult but I could get my head around the BS papers like law and auditing and F7
One man’s meat is another man’s poison
December 6, 2016 at 4:21 pm #354551Very true. Thanks again.
