    First question:

According to the question, for every 19 litres produced they should input 20 litres (8 + 12).

Therefore for production of 1850 litres they should have input 20/19 x 1850 = 1947 litres.

The standard mix is 8 litres of A and 12 litres of B, and therefore the 1947 litres they should have input should have been mixed in the ratio 8/20 of A and 12/20 of B.

I do suggest that you watch my free lectures on mix and yield variances.

    Second question:

The salon is open 50 weeks a year, 6 days a week, 8 hours a day.

    So the total number of hours is 50 x 6 x 8 = 2,400 hours.

There are two assistants and a cut takes them 0.1 hours. Therefore the capacity of assistants for cuts is (2 x 2,400) / 0.1 = 48,000

It is the same approach for each of them.
