The “flow” of cash/recording would be as follows:
Cashier (at register in a shop, say) scans products/enters prices
…
Customer hands over cash for total
….
Cashier puts cash in till/register and enters amount
….
At the end of the day, the till receipts are totted up and the total entered in the cash book. Physical cash should be same total and this will be paid into the bank.
