Hi, just wanted to clarify my understanding on making amendments for resubmission.
If I have failed the RR only on “Evaluation” criteria, am I able to edit the whole RR or am I limited to amending Part 3 (4,500 words) only? The Resubmission Guide indicates that I can only edit the parts of the RR that failed, per the blue table on page 2.
October 7, 2018 at 10:40 am #476711As a former marker and now a mentor I can advise that sometimes you have to revise all parts of the report if only to stay within the word count.
The suggestion that Findings and analysis be limited to 4,500 is merely that – a suggestion. In fact I encourage my own mentees to try to use no moe than 2,500 words total for Parts 1 & 2 combined and thus have 5,000 words available for Part 3 as this section is the most important for a pass and obviously critical in your case. You will probably find that you have a lot of superfluous material and repetition that you can remove in the earlier parts – so do some editing.
Follow the marker feedback – Evaluation is the most frequently failed section often because it lacks in depth analysis or just states increases / decreases in ratios (Topic 8). Please do not drown the marker in a sea of numbers – they want explanations not just figures and yet more figures but FACTS.
