    Hello All

i come to you very frustrated and seeking some help before I cry!

Today was attempt 3 of AFM – and I smashed it. I put a heck of a lot of hours in this time. knowing I cannot resit in March as I am taking my little girl to Disney world!

i completed AFM on the CBE platform at an exam centre, with 10 minutes to go, I quickly switched back to Q1. M&A was my strong suit, and I wanted to spend as much time on it as possible to my horror the word doc was empty. Nothing. But my Excel workings were there.

I called over the invigilator who after faffing for a while paused my exam, with about 1 minute on the clock. we walked away, and he called pearson, who asked me to log on to a different computer at the centre. still not there, there was now 10 seconds left on the clock

he said there was nothing he could do. all of that work, gone. and with only 10 seconds left, hw couldn’t enter to 12 digit code to extend my time so that I could do the work again

he tells me he is going to lodge an issue.

i proceeded to call ACCA, they gave me two options:
    do AFM this weds or
    file mitigating circumstances

firstly – doing it Wednesday is going to have a serious impact on my work, I am massively behind and its busy season, I am on medication for my back – that makes me drowsy, which I stopped taking in order to stay focused, this meant I was in agony for three hours. i have a whole raft of personal issues; ranging from my fathers attempted suicide to my nephew who is two days old being in intensive care – this isn’t a plea for sympathy this is just me saying I cannot study this week, and if I want to do the exam this weds, I need to STUDY!

    so, my question is:
has anyone sat the 2nd week exam in the same session? What’s it like, I worry they will throw all the awful bits of the syllabus in it?

secondly, has anyone submitted mitigating circumstances? i have all my workings in Excel for Q1 but literally NO text. i spent maybe 60% of my time on Q1 (I know, time management…) but I feel like I smashed it so I thought 30 marks there, 10 in each other question, job done.

    anyway, any thoughts?
