    Hi sir.
Just wanted to ask on the structuring side of a report type answer for p4. Are we to separately show the workings as appendix? Or can we do it on the report part itself? I’m asking this because I’m finding it difficult to make a guess on the number of pages that I’ll be using to write the report beforehand and start on doing the calculations on the appendix. Will the examiner penalize for not doing it separately under the heading appendix? Thanks in advance 🙂

You must show the report separately from the appendix with the workings.

If you are asked for a report then you must produce a report – there will be 4 marks just for the style of the report (even if you have no content or your workings are completely wrong!)

Why not do your appendix first? (Or do your report first but leave two pages for it – you do not lose marks for having blank pages!)

So is it completely alright if my answer starts with the appendix section followed by the report?

Yes – no problem (just make sure you head up the appendix page(s) with the word ‘appendix’, and the report page(s) with the word ‘report’ (so that the marker does not get confused 🙂 )
