Hi tax tutor if we get the above in the exam question is it necessary to calculate both alternatives is expenses aggregated or yearly amount of above?

We must compute both the normal assessment of rental income accrued less expenses incurred and then use the rent a room relief taking 4250 from the rental income accrued to know which will be used
