What is the relevance of proposed acquisition of a subsidiary in a later period to the current year audit as in the march 2017 past exam which asked for audit procedures for acquisition

This is all explained in the published ACCA answer. See the last paragraph of part (b) of the answer.

The acquisition has to be disclosed and auditmevidence is needed to ensure that the disclosures are accurate.
