I understand and suggest for the benefit of all active students that ACCA may consider relaxation in 7 years clearance of ACCA papers /of total attempts from the date of first attempt/ registration by minimum one year due to Covid -19, that caused many students round the world to skip one or more exam due to sickness, inability to take remote exam or other reasons owing to the pandemic.
Regards
Anyone potentially affected should apply to ACCA directly – before the expiry of their 7 years – for an extension – the same as if they had taken a career break for maternity/paternity leave, to care for a relative, long-term sickness, etc.
There is no need for a unilateral revision to what is a very important rule. Indeed many students have potentially benefitted from the impact of Covid-19 – e.g. in the UK, the furlough scheme has provided many people with the opportunity to prepare for more exams/obtain qualifications – not just in the field of accountancy.
