    Good evening,

I am currently using outdated text for my f5 studies and part of quantitative aids to budgeting involves regression analysis, which is simple once the formulae is know. In the test that I am using it suggests that the formula is given in the exam, yet the formulae sheet does not have this included. I have also noticed that in the OpenTuition’s lecture notes, regression analysis does not feature, unless I have missed it.

The question, is this something I would need to learn for the exam?

    Many thanks in advance.

The examiner announced several years ago that although you are expected to have heard of regression analysis (because it is is Paper F2) you will not be asked calculations on it in Paper F5.

You should really not be using an old Study Text. If you watch our free lectures then you do not really need a Study Text anyway – our lectures are a complete course for Paper F5 and cover everything needed to be able to pass the exam well.

What you do need is a Revision Kit from one of the ACCA approved publishers, because they contain lots of exam standard questions to practice, and practice is vital. It must be a current edition because the format of the exam is different that it was a couple of years ago.

Many thanks for the clarification. Much appreciated.

I have an up to date revision textbook, which I am currently working through.

    Kind regards.
