Hi There,
I am about to start self-studying to get my ACCA qualification.
Does anybody know if I need to register in ACCA before I can sit any exam?

Yes you need to register to become a student, then only yo can enter into exams, already the normal exam entry deadline is up. I think late entry is still open til 8 of this month (which is very expensive) cheers

I couldn’t find specific dates in their website.
So if I understand correctly, I could also wait until I am ready for the first exam(s) and then register. Right?

you can register at any time.
you cannot appear for june-2012 exam if you register now.
if you are planning to appear knowldege module exams (F1,F2,F3) as Computer Based Exams(CBE), you can appear them at any time after registration.i dont know if there are any deadlines for registration now.
earlier, one has to be registered before Aug 15 if he wish to write exams in Dec; and by Dec 31 for june exams.
