We have reached a stage in the course when we either cover all models briefly or the main ones well. Which would you advise and what are the main models.

If you have to choose, I suggest the main ones well (thought there’s a gamble in that). By ‘well’, aim to be able to apply them well. My top 10 are:

5 Forces
Resources (‘M’ words)
Ansoff’s matrix
SWOT
Generic strategies
Marketing – 7Ps
6Is of e-business
Harmon’s process strategy matrix
Balogun and Hope Hailey (change kaleidescope)
