Hi John i am having difficulty in calculating the follow rate of learning:

The times taken to produce each of the 4 batches of a new product were as follows:

Batch number 1. Time taken 100 mins
Batch number 2. Time taken 70 mins
Batch number 3. Time taken 59 mins
Batch number 4. Time taken 55 mins

What was the rate of learning closest to?

The average time per batch for 4 batches is 71 minutes
The time for 1 batch is 100 minutes

Therefore the best estimate of the learning rate is: the square root of 71/100 = 0.84 (or 84%)

To get the average you add up the time for all 4 batches and then divide by 4 !!
