I plan to give 4 professional level papers in June and I am in desperate need of materials for these, as I plan on studying independently. So ,I checked out the ACCA content provider list and was informed that BPP learning media are the only “platinum” approved content providers. So I checked out their website and was happy to find out that they provide all of their material in e-book format. But unfortunately, to my shock the website(the bpp learing media page) wasn’t functioning properly. I sent them an email regarding this but have not received any reply from them. I am now having serious doubts about going ahead with my ACCA studies. I mean, how does ACCA approve content providers such as BPP who put it simply, suck!!!
January 10, 2012 at 7:27 am #92572My answer would be : no one is perfect.
If u faced some difficulties with any website it doesn’t mean the the whole world suck 🙂
But if after such problem you consider to quit ACCA, then you really should quit it 🙂 Because much more serious problems might occur later and it’s a normal thing to struggle with them.
The other thing is that you are in P level already and you are lucky if u didn’t have any similar problems before. Or maybe you were exempt from the whole F level.I have always been purchasing e-books from BPP and never faced any problem. On the contrary, i always enjoyed their speed of service as everything is automated.
U create your “My BPP account”, choose books you are interested in , then enter details of your card and that’s it ..in couple of minutes u will receive e-mail with links to books.
Just don’t forget to download Adobe Digital Editions as those books can’t be viewed in simple adobe reader.By the way, bad thing about BPP e-books is that they have only 15% of printing allowance.
good luck and chill down man,
it’s not a big deal and you will solve it 🙂January 10, 2012 at 12:07 pm #92573yes i am exempt from the whole F level. I am not questioning the authenticity of the material provided by BPP, I am only highlighting the problems that I had with their service. The reason I am so upset is that the ebooks are cheaper than the printed material and also it is very difficult for me to obtain printed versions of the ebooks here in India. By the way thank you for informing me about my BPP. Good luck with your ACCA studies.
January 15, 2012 at 1:36 pm #92574I have also been frustrated with trying to purchase e-books from the BPP website – have been trying since Friday but it seems that the issue with the website is because they are currently overhauling their site, I emailed them yesterday but I guess they won’t reply until at least tomorrow when their offices open after the weekend. I feel your frustrations because I live in Dubai so have the same issues with trying to get hold of the printed books. I had a whole weekend free and wanted to start studying but it wasn’t to be! I have emailed BPP a couple of times previously with book questions and they have responded so I am sure we will hear from them soon and also I am sure that their website issues will be sorted out.
