    Hello

I had completed acca papers until F8.Now im stucked with F9.I could not clear it after many attempts.I tried P2 and P7 also. But i could not clear.I had worked in an audit firm for 7 months.Honestly,i hated public accounting and i did not enjoy it.Therefore now i want to work in private accounting as an accounts assistant to see which one i prefer.I want to give acca one last try for 1 year.if i could not clear i want to stop until F9 and start working in a private accounting. What i personally feel is acca membership is mainly useful if we start our own firm and for public accounting. But still acca it will be useful for other positions in private accounting. But experience is more needed that qualification. Therefore i want to specialise in one industry and be an expert in that rather than knowing many industries in public accounting. What you all think? All answers all welcome??
    Thank you:))

From a very young age my ambition was to work in accounting. I did not have a degree so I did the CAT complete self study it took me four years to complete as i was not working in an accounting environment. This i completed in 2007 and was transferred to the second level ACCA. From then to now I have struggled to pass exams. Only clearing F4, F6 and F8. I did F7 six times and got between 46 and 49. I did F9 last September and got 46. I am 40 years old and have only worked in accounts receivables processing cheques and invoices and accounts payables. Should I quit acca.

I am very close to making a decision to moving to another professional body completely and quit ACCA . I have had my individual experience and disappointment with ACCA, at this stage. I feel that the admin / mitigating review is pretty useless and the exam fees are so expensive. Just really feeling disappointed right now.

Thanks Anon39!! Really appreciate the positive words and encouragement. I probably need to give myself some time to think, but right now, it is definitely to leave ACCA, I am not quitting my dream, as I am sure there is another professional body that’s right for me. Before I ran out of budget for paying for re-takes and fees, I have to make the decision quickly.

I have seen people with all papers cleared in acca and they cant even write an email properly. I really dont know how do they pass their exams but if they can do it, I can do it 😛 I’m a foundation student I went to an institute where a teacher who was in professional module, was teaching foundation students. and she was unable to explain our foundation level questions she could not even simply explain the differences between when to capitalize an expenditure and when to put it in revenue, or what is a deferred revenue called?. anyways I went their for trial was not really enrolled their. again im saying >>> it gave me hope that if such students can qualify to professional module i can too 😛

You say you gave so many attempts. Its actually not about the attempts man. You may TAP A HAMMER THOUSAND TIMES it may never make any difference. But knowing WHERE TO TAP would make the difference.

If it was easy everyone would be ACCA qualified.

Giving up or switching to CIMA is taking the easy route.

Stick with it, your future self will thank you for it
