anyone can teach me how to calculate the chapter 8 example 1 in the note which is about the possible profit that could result? i totally dont know how to get the answer.

This topic was taught in F5 and is assumed knowledge in P5, thus it is not explained in full detail.
I recommend going back to an F5 textbook and having a fresh look from the beginning..
