How is the lowest amount to which a person could make a claim to reduce each of his payments on account for a tax year without being charged interest is calculated and why
If you lower your payments on account – you can lower them to any amount. BUT if it turns out that you actually owe more tax than the revised payments you have made then HMRC will charge you interest on the extra from the date you were supoosed to make the payments.
