For which of the following variances should a production manager usually be held responsible?
material price planning variance
material price operational variance
material usage planning variance
material usage operational variance
Would the manager be held responsible for material usage planning variance, If not why

Not unless he was responsible for calculating the original standards, which is unlikely. The production manager is responsible for operations.
