I’m appearing for F7 and F8 in the month of September’17. I haven’t started preparing for the exam and haven’t bought the books. I am confused whether to purchase the text or not or just study from open tuition notes and videos and along with it buy the practice kit.
And that there is no gap for the exam, any suggestions how to tackle it?June 30, 2017 at 4:53 am #394370It’s July tomorrow! Buy a revision kit and start practicing the mcqs / mtqs now! Even though you will have no idea what the answer is, start now. Ok, you’ll score 15% – 20%
But that’s on the first time through
Second time through you’ll collect 20% – 25%
Third time 30% – 50%
And then the sky’s the limit – dependent upon how many more times you can get through those mcqs / mtqs
Meanwhile you need to watch the videos and follow through the course notes and pay particular attention to the chapters on consolidations, cash flows and interpretation
When you’re feeling on top of those chapters, move on to the mini-exercises section towards the end of the course notes and work through those. You should be fine with the exercises involving consolidations but you will struggle with the others. When you hit a brick wall, post again
In addition, on the F7 home page, towards the foot of the page, you’ll find a section called “revision lectures”
These are worked examples on the screen of past exam questions and particularly consolidations and preparation of financial statements for single entities. These are important so follow my workings as I do the exercise on the screen
And, of course, in the middle of all this you’ve got F8 to break up the excitement of F7
Remember, post again when you hit a problem that you can’t resolve quickly
OK?
