Hello MikeLitte,
In a exam I was given a question where I was given 4 headings scenarios and was required to answer
(i)……………., and
(ii)…………….Instead of answering like how its shown below,
(i) Heading 1
Heading 2
Heading 3
Heading 4(ii) Heading 1
Heading 2
Heading 3
Heading 4I answered the question like this shown below:
Heading 1
(i)
(ii)Heading 2
(i)
(ii)Heading 3
(i)
(ii)Heading 4
(i)
(ii)This is how I answered the question, will it affect the markings?
December 7, 2015 at 11:50 pm #288831No, it shouldn’t affect your marks. You (students generally) appear to be happy to underestimate the skill and professionalism of the ACCA markers.
It may not be the clearest (most logical?) layout of an answer but the marker will very qiickly work out what you have done
Don’t worry!
Be happy!
🙂
December 8, 2015 at 7:50 am #288873Sir,
I was accidentally coded wrong ISA number( it should ISA 570 but I coded as ISA510) and run out of time so I did not wrote a conclusion paragraph for my reply email, how many marks will I losing?December 8, 2015 at 8:17 am #288890You gave a wrong ISA number!!!!!! How could you make such a basic error?????
Hundreds of marks lost – simply tossed away! How could you not get the right ISA number?
Listen, one more time – THERE ARE NO MARKS FOR ISA NUMBERS! (Nor IAS, IFRS, EDs, Statute dates or titles, case names in F4)
They are not worth a mark so what can it possibly matter if you have quoted e wrong number?
Pity about the conclusion paragraph but excellent news that you had the strength of mind to leave that question and move on to the next at the end of your time allocation. That really is good news 🙂
December 8, 2015 at 12:37 pm #288981Hello MikeLittle,
Thank you for your reply, much appreciated.Basically I was given 4 scenarios and the question required me to (from the top of my head) describe;
(i) the matters of each scenario,
(ii) the effect on the audit report of each of the scenario. So I answered the question like this
Scenario 1 title
(i)
(ii)Scenario 2 title
(i)
(ii)Scenario 3 title
(i)
(ii)Scenario 4 title
(i)
(ii)December 8, 2015 at 6:41 pm #289266Yes, you told me!
Now let’s see how the results come out!
